Who Are We?

"You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5

Hello :) My name is Delaney. I'm 14 and I'm going into 10th grade. I love the performing arts, sports, and food. I'm an "out there person", but I have Jesus so it's all good :) This is my second year doing the 30 hour famine with World Vision. In participating in the famine, I've learned about the starving children around the world. I realize what these kids have to go through everyday. How hard it is for them to survive. It's truly sad that we are blessed with a fridge full of food, while they starve daily. The 30 Hour Famine is a great way to make a difference in their lives.

Hey, I’m Anna. I am sixteen years old and an incoming junior in high school. I am pursuing the field of medicine as my future career and I am fascinated with all things science. Some of my hobbies include kayaking, reading, camping, hiking, volunteering and hanging out with friends and family. I’m a dedicated student and consider excelling in a college course to be one of my greatest accomplishments. There’s two reasons that I’m participating in the 30 Hour Famine program this year. Firstly, I want to feed starving kids. I want to contribute something tangible to help people, instead of being obsessed with my own interests. Secondly, I want to grow through this experience. I desire to become familiar with global crises such as world hunger. This event is the perfect opportunity to make a positive impact on our world.

My name is Allie, I am 14 years old. Two of my goals in life are to do what God would want and to climb one of the world’s tallest mountains. I love being outside, exploring what God has made, mainly by hiking, biking or kayaking. I love my family which includes my dog, Jacksie. My all time favorite beverage is Arizona Lemon Iced Tea. mmm! I think that serving is one of the most important things that anyone can do. I participate in Bible quizzing competition, studying the book of Luke this year. I am also going to participate in the 30 Hour Famine to raise support and awareness for those in need of food, and through this program these children will also hear God’s Word. I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD I LIVE IN!!!

Hey there! My name is Angie. I am in 8th grade and I am 13 years
old. My favorite things to do are help out at my church, serve others,
hang out with friends and family, go to Dodger games and Disneyland.
I absolutely love God, my family means the world to me, I love almost
all types of music, my goals in life are to serve others and live for God.
I am doing the 30hr Famine because it will challenge me and at the same
time benefit others.

Hi! My name is Kristy. I am 14 years old and in 9th grade. I have been homeschooled all my life. I enjoy being outside in the fresh air. My family and I go camping once a month. I did the 30 hour famine last year. I think its a great way to have fun and help save lives at the same time!

Hi! My name is Kellee. I am 17 years old and I am in 12th grade. I have been homeschooled all my life and it has been great. I am going to Citrus College in the fall and hope to work with young children. I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I like NASCAR, and I like to read. I did the 30 Hour Famine last year and I thought it was a great experience. It is a great way to serve God, help other people, and have fun at the same time.()

Hi! My name is Michael, and I'm 13 years old. I like playing music. It makes me happy. I play mostly piano, but also a little bit of guitar. I'm doing the Famine because I want to help the children in poor countries. I can't wait to do the Famine. I love Jesus.

I'm Tyler. I'm thirteen and I'm going into the ninth grade. I love playing guitar and spending time with my friends. I also enjoy Jamba Juice, bacon, snickerdoodles, and fried chicken. I like being in solitude outside. I reeeaaallly like Jesus. I did the Famine last year and it was great. The experience was so unique. The feeling of being hungry for a long period of time was eye-opening. The idea of children dying of starvation really disturbed me. I liked being able to help these kids and actually making a difference in the world. That's why I'm doing it again this year.

Hey guys! I'm Donavan. I'm fifteen. I like music, writing, and being with friends and family. I did the Famine last year and it really changed my understanding of children afflicted by hunger and poverty. I just want to help the kiddos. Peace!
